Online collector training for DOT specimen collections, including: full course on Basic Training and Qualification training, as required by 49 CFR Part 40.This online training course covers in detail the rules and regulations pertaining to the Specimen Collector's role in the Department of Transportation drug testing process. DOT Specimen Collectors must receive "qualification training" in order to comply with the Federal regulations included in 49 CFR Part 40. This qualification training course includes the DOT-required information such as: (1) All steps necessary to complete a collection correctly and the proper completion and transmission of the CCF;   (2) “Problem” collections (e.g., situations like “shy bladder” and attempts to tamper with a specimen);   (3) Fatal flaws, correctable flaws, and how to correct problems in collections; and   (4) The collector's responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the collection process, ensuring the privacy of employees being tested, ensuring the security of the specimen, and avoiding conduct or statements that could be viewed as offensive or inappropriate. This extremely thorough course also includes a bonus module that gets the collector thinking by presenting challenging collection scenarios to engage the collector student's thought processes and build confidence in handling challenging real-world situations. Note: No online or self-study training program provides complete Collector training (or certification) as required by the Department of Transportation regulations. After completing this portion of the qualification training, the Collector must also demonstrate their proficiency in DOT collections by completing five (5) mock error-free collections under the observation of a qualified monitor. The monitor must monitor and evaluate the collector's performance and attest in writing that the collector's collections were error-free. A form is included in the course for you to properly document your five mock collections with your mentor after completion of this portion of the training. The DOT requires that Specimen Collectors repeat their training every five years -- both parts of qualification training: (1) Rules and regulations training along with training on proper collection procedures and documentation in all collection situations; (2) as well as the proficiency demonstration (5 mock collections). Bonus Module (#11): This module offers a study of several real life scenarios that a professional specimen collector may face in the field. This section offers 17 true-to-life situations that a collector might face in conducting DOT collections and allows the collector student the opportunity to engage in critical thinking to address these situations.  Read more
